REDE developed a plan to combine wind power, solar heating, hydro energy and insulation that would transform the Stillman White Foundry into an educational center. During extremely hot temperatures in summer, daytime operation would be rescheduled to occur on cooler evening hours. Excess energy would be sold to the power utility. During extremely cold days in winter space heaters would be powered from batteries in the basement space charged by the hydro dam and photovoltaic generators.
